Mama says "breathe easy," but Ziggy’s afraid to leave the house. He’s too busy worrying about tropical storms, evil spirits and steering clear of that sneaky, hair-snatching Duppy! But with the help of Dr. Bird and his feathered friends, Ziggy’s reminded in soothing six-part harmony that "every little thing gonna be all right." A jammin’ musical featuring the timeless music and lyrics of Bob Marley and based on the children’s book by his daughter Cedella, Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds shares the legendary reggae artist’s message of peace and love with a new generation of songbirds.

A snowy, frigid New York is about to enjoy a blast of Caribbean warmth courtesy of Jamaica and its most favorite son, Bob Marley. The New Victory Theater in the heart of Times Square is putting on Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds, a new musical for kids that features the legendary reggae artist’s songs. “I want Daddy to speak to children through his music,” says Cedella Marley, the first-born daughter of Bob Marley and Rita Marley and who helped create the show.

Bob Marley made plenty of music that lends itself to a feel-good kids’ show. Consider the lyrics: “Every little thing is gonna be all right”; “Let’s get together and feel all right”; “I shot the sheriff.” O.K., maybe that last one is a little mature for toddlers, and that’s surely why, in Bob Marley’s Three Little Birds, a new jukebox musical for children, you hear it only instrumentally, an in-joke for the parents.
