A ghost haunts the graveyard setting of “The Train Driver,” the latest play by Athol Fugard, which opened Sunday night at the Pershing Square Signature Center in a production directed by the playwright. This particular specter is made of flesh and blood. Roelf Visagie (Ritchie Coster) is unquestionably a living man, and yet there is something hollowed out about his presence, as if the soul that once inhabited his body has withered away, leaving an echoing emptiness behind.
