Enter a world where scandal fills the night and one man rules the city. In Sweet Smell of Success, John Lithgow stars as J.J. Hunsecker, the most powerful gossip columnist in America; he can create or ruin lives with a single stroke of his poison pen. Brian d’Arcy James co-stars in the new musical, based on the novella by Ernest Lehman and the MGM/UA motion picture. Nicholas Hytner directs the production, which features music by Marvin Hamlisch, lyrics by Craig Carnelia, book by John Guare, and choreography by Christopher Wheeldon.
