A stone-faced woman in a slinky red dress holds a bag at the foot of a white path. Blackout. She is now farther downstage. Blackout. She opens the bag. Blackout. A threatening man, a pilot, appears behind her. Blackout. She takes out a knife. Blackout. And just when the tension reaches its peak, “Red Over Red,” a downtown thriller about plane crashes, remains in darkness for what seems like an eternity.
