One woman’s monumental certainty shines as harshly as a naked light bulb amid the shadows of "Doubt, a Parable," the tight, absorbing and expertly acted new drama by John Patrick Shanley that opened last night at the Manhattan Theater Club. And it will probably surprise no one that this rigidly assured figure is both a nun and the head of a grade school.
