The story of Czyzewska’s turbulent life forms the moving heart of John Guare’s “3 Kinds of Exile,” which opened on Tuesday night at the Atlantic Theater Company in a production directed by Neil Pepe. A triptych of short plays about Eastern Europeans displaced from the countries of their birth, Mr. Guare’s new work draws on the life stories of Czyzewska (pronounced Chuh-ZHEF-skuh) and the Polish writer Witold Gombrowicz, and opens with a monologue about a fictional refugee who was sent to England as a boy just before the outbreak of World War II.
