NEW YORK TIMES BigThumbs_UP

”Frozen,” a play by Bryony Lavery, had a limited run this year at the East 13th Street Theater. Following are excerpts from Ben Brantley’s review, which appeared in The New York Times on March 19; the full text is online at theater.nytimes.com. The play reopened last night on Broadway at Circle in the Square. The softly smiling man repeats the simple greeting again and again. ”Hello,” he says. ”Hello. Hello.” There is hope and gentleness in the way he throws out the words, like a bird lover tossing bread crumbs to pigeons. But it is a little girl this man has fixed his attention on. And when she finally answers him, she’s as good as dead.
