The play, as in the original film, is a story about tolerance. Diego, a cultured, homosexual, is infatuated with a young heterosexual communist full of prejudices and doctrines. First comes rejection and suspicion, but also fascination. This is the story of a great friendship, a great love between two men, which overcomes incomprehension and intolerance turning it into respect and tolerance.
