“The Tragical Life of Cheeseboy,” Finegan Kruckemeyer’s play presented by the New Victory Theater, begins with a bearded storyteller (Stephen Sheehan) in a top hat approaching some children sitting on the floor in the front row: “Are you prepared to be saddened?” he asks. “Are you prepared to laugh? Are you prepared to be dazzled?”
